Did you ever think about having your meal somewhere that is close to the beach or a forest in Penang? Well guys we have a good news for you. Now you can enjoy the best of both worlds at this restaurant. It is call the Tree Monkey Restaurant. It is located just beside the Spice Garden.
We have been in this restaurant several times. We love the location of this place and the food as well. This place is specialized in authentic Thai cuisine like somtum, Thai fish cake, green curry etc. One of our favourite dish on the menu was the Basil Chicken, Crispy Kangkung, Mixed local vegetables (lady fingers, eggplant and snake beans). Don't forget to order the Pineapple fried rice as well i heard it was inside a real pineapple. Yummy! As for the drink they have a large variety of Spice herbs cocktails and mocktails. We ordered the Monkey Punch and LGH.
While you are waiting for the food you now can enjoy the beautiful tree canopy and a magnificent elevated ocean view, You definitely gonna enjoyed the view and the cool breeze. if you are lucky enough you might see a few monkeys playing around the tree. This Restaurant really has a relaxed al fresco dining with Thai background music (instrumental tracks) which will make you feel like you are in Thailand.
Do not worry about the temperature, even tough it is an outdoor space it was cool micro-climate and if you are still sweating just ask the waiter to put you in a table that is near to a wall fan and if you are worried about mosquito the waiter will be happy to give you mosquito repellent which is we think is homemade, if you ask them.
So if you have a friends that love this kind of place you can recommend this place to them. Because we love this place. We occasional went to this place, because it is a bit pricey bu
t it is worth a try. If you are on a holiday just enjoy it, Right?
